Historic Preservation Awards
2021 Masters Award: Edna Griffin Building
The Edna Griffin Building has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 2016. The structure dates back to 1885 and was renamed in 1998 to honor Ms. Griffin and others who fought for civil rights.
Forrest & Associate joined the building’s restoration team in 1999 to preserve this building and the memory of those who fought to reshape the future for Iowa and the nation.
2021 MII Appreciation Award: Brooklyn Opera House
The Brooklyn Opera House first opened its doors on Feb. 28, 1911, and it became the area’s center of cultural activities for many years. Team Forrest is proud to be part of the team that brought this facility back to life.
